Here's exactly what happens after you donate, start to finish.

You Donate

Bag up clothing, shoes, and accessories in reusable condition, then drop them at a Green Machine bin near you or schedule a free pickup right from your door.

STAGE 02

We Collect

Our team regularly services every bin and pickup request, so donations never sit for long. Everything gets picked up and brought back to Lincoln.

STAGE 03

Sorted & Baled

At our facility, clothing is sorted and baled, preparing it for its next life instead of a landfill.

STAGE 04

Shipped for Reuse

Baled clothing is shipped out for reuse. Some finds a second home right here in Nebraska, and some travels to communities around the world.

STAGE 05

Real Impact

For every full bin, we plant a tree with the Arbor Day Foundation, turning your closet cleanout into cleaner landfills, greener forests, and clothed families.

Extending the Life of Clothing, One Bin at a Time

For over 9 years, we've been committed to extending the life of clothing right here in Lincoln, Nebraska. It started with our signature donation bins, the Green Machine, named for our promise to plant a tree with the Arbor Day Foundation for every bin collected full.

Since then, we've kept finding ways to make giving clothes a second life easier. We regularly service every partnered collection point, transporting what's collected back to our facility, where it's sorted and baled for reuse, both here in the U.S. and around the world.

Secondhand clothing plays a real role in global sustainability. It's estimated that around 70% of the world's population wears used clothing at some point. Because it costs a fraction of new clothing, secondhand items free up income for essentials like food, housing, and healthcare, while still giving people quality clothing they can feel good about wearing.
