Global Green Clothing donates a portion of the proceeds from our clothing donation bins to the Lincoln Children's Zoo. That contribution goes into the zoo's general fund, the same fund that supports its day-to-day mission.
In practice, that means your donated clothing helps fund the zoo's ongoing education programs, conservation efforts, animal care, and whatever urgent needs come up for the animals and the zoo's operations. It's one of the reasons we say every bag you drop off does more than clear out a closet.
The exact contribution isn't a fixed dollar amount. Like the rest of our operation, it's based on the current market price for recycled textiles and the volume we collect, so it moves with the market rather than staying flat. What doesn't change is that a portion of every load's proceeds goes toward the zoo's general fund.
Every Green Machine carries the Lincoln Children's Zoo logo alongside our own, so you know exactly where a piece of your donation is headed the moment you drop it off.
